Slow Cooker Black Beans

When it comes to bulking up my meals to make them heartier and more filling, beans are some of my favorite ingredients. Is it easy to grab a can of beans at the store and simply drain them? Of course. However, these slow cooker black beans are way more budget-friendly and taste even better than the sodium-packed canned beans at the store. An incredible source of plant-based protein, black beans can be added to a ton of different meals for extra flavor and fiber. These slow cooker black beans can be added to everything from black bean tacos to black bean burgers , and even transformed into this amazing black bean dip . Trust me, if it involves beans, I’ve probably tried it. Ever since I learned how to cook black beans at home, I’ve never looked back. It’s beyond easy (especially with the help of my handy slow cooker), budget-friendly, and way lower in sodium than the canned black beans at the store. Once you try this amazing slow cooker recipe, I guarantee you won’t look back either

Thai Red Coconut Curry with Chicken

Is curry one of your favorites for Take-Out Friday? Here is a simple (and quick) spicy Thai red curry recipe with chicken! Red curry is a meal that is healthier and tastier than your local take-out. When I am short on time, curry is one of the first things I think about making since it comes together in minutes but tastes like it has been cooking all day. Plus it's hard to beat those delicious Thai flavors . The secret, of course, is in the curry paste. I am lucky to live in a large city with a substantial Thai population so I normally buy homemade curry pastes, but there are some pretty great supermarket options as well. And with a few simple tricks, you can elevate any store-bought curry paste into a rich, creamy, delicious dinner that is as good as any take-out curry. All it takes is adding some extra garlic, ginger, shallots, brown sugar, lime juice, and fish sauce. This recipe is meant to serve as a base recipe, so plan on adding in your favorite veggies. Homemade Soft Pretzels (with Two Ingredient Dough)

Once upon a time, soft pretzels were a special treat that I only enjoyed on rare occasions like at carnivals, movie theatres, and baseball games. Then, the internet introduced me to two-ingredient dough. I have two words for you: Game. Changer. Two-ingredient dough, made from an ultra simple combination of self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, quickly became my new best friend. Together we made pizzas , bagels , garlic knots , English muffins , and now—soft pretzels. These Two-Ingredient Dough Pretzels are everything good pretzels should be. They are crisp and golden on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Perfectly salted and beyond delicious. No longer do I have to wait until I’m at the movies or the county fair to enjoy my beloved soft pretzel. I can whip up my trusty two-ingredient dough and then bake my very own pretzels in less than 20 minutes. I love them and my kids go absolutely nuts for them. If you’re looking for a delicious party snack, try pairing your homemade pre

Slow Cooker Spicy Pulled Pork

If you are a big fan of BBQ pork, then this recipe will wake up your taste buds! Spicy pulled pork, slow-cooked for hours in the crockpot, topped with bbq sauce and jalapenos- talk about yum! This pork recipe is perfect on buns or in a crunchy lettuce wrap. Pulled pork is one of my favorite comfort foods and a dish I love to make during the summer to feed a crowd. Paired with some healthy slaw , corn on the cob, and watermelon slices - it's easily one of my favorite ways to cook pork! Recently to mix things up, I have been making a spicy version of pulled pork using whole jalapenos. Adding them whole to the slow cooker will impart a subtle spicy flavor to the sauce without becoming overly spicy. If you love spice like me, you can add some of the cooked jalapenos to your dish to kick up the heat. If you love a smokey flavor and spice, you could use chipotle peppers in this recipe instead of the jalapenos. But, be careful because they pack a lot more heat! Key Ingredients For S

Camarones a la Diabla

Living in Southern California, I’m extremely blessed to have so many amazing options for Mexican cuisine all around me. From popular hotspots to hole-in-the-wall treasures, Los Angeles is a haven for foodies like myself. I’m often inspired by the food I try at restaurants, so I wind up making my own version at home. Today’s inspiration? Camarones a la Diabla, a delicious shrimp dish that is super popular for good reason. If I told you that you could make a saucy shrimp dish that was bursting with flavor in under 10 minutes, would you believe me? If the answer is no, get ready to become a believer! This recipe for Camarones a la Diabla consists of shrimp cooked in a simple homemade red chile sauce. It’s quick, spicy, saucy, easy to make, and packed with fresh and savory flavors. Of the many seafood and shrimp recipes on my website, this has to be one of my favorites. The spicy red chile sauce has the perfect blend of smoky and spicy flavors and this recipe uses a shortcut to save ti
